Capitalism is not your friend, Little John Bundle Release

“When things fall apart, something must remain standing”

With the release of the third issue “Suburbs”, the series of Little John Magazine ends a journey lasting almost 4 years where we tried to explore the HOW, WHERE and WHEN of the current economic system. For this occasion, we have published a special bundle collecting the 3 issues in a new graphic format.

Little John is a contemporary culture publishing project, conceived, designed and produced by Parco Gallery. It refers to experiences as Adbusters and local fanzines, we assemble images and words and try to make sense of this accumulation. The special edition of Little John collects the three volumes published between 2015 and 2018.

Since 2011 he has been involved in university training in the graphics and programming disciplines. Since 2017 he has been a professor of Web and Communication Design at the University of Bolzano. In his spare time he raps and tidies up the comics.

Parasite 2.0, authors of the article “Cosmology, subculture and urban wilderness” published in the upcoming issue. Parasite 2.0 (Stefano Colombo, Eugenio Cosentino and Luca Marullo) was founded in 2010 and is based in Brussels and Milan. Noura Tafeche, talks about her work as an illustrator starting from her reinterpretation of Little Red Riding Hood, made for “24/7”, the second issue of Little John. Noura was born and raised in Milan and is self-taught in drawing. Graduated in New Technologies for Art at the Brera Academy, where she has never touched a pencil for a single day. Her life changed when she discovered a book called “Communication-Guerrilla” which is a particular intersection between art, pranks and activism. Then, it became the subject for her degree thesis, and her professional obsession. Her works are hand-made, miniature drawings, preferably pencils on paper. She spent lot of time in researching, aiming to discover and assemble in drawing the different sensitivities, intuitions and social practices that we are able to experience, crossing as many continents and centuries as can be crossed: from the writing systems forgotten and destroyed by the colonialism, the theme of mass surveillance up to the importance of dreams in the different cultures of the world.

Alberto Baraghini, reads “Famiglie”, “Le Palle” and “La ballata dei condomini inesplosi”, poems by Francesco Targhetta, contained in “Periferie”. Versatile actor and performer, active in theater and cinema. He won the 2015 ERT “Elisabetta Turroni” award for artistic creativity.
